Abstract

This study analyzes the method of translating the classic Indonesian song Rayuan Pulau Kelapa into Mandarin with the title 美丽的故乡印度尼西亚Měilì de gùxiāng Yìndùníxīyà with the main focus of the research being to maintain the essential meaning, aesthetics and cultural nuances of the original song in the target language. Through a comparative analysis between the original text and its translation, this study identifies the translation techniques used to adapt Indonesian cultural values into the Chinese context by considering the beauty of the lyrics and the rhythm of the song. The results show that song translation involves deep cultural adaptation and has important implications in enriching the understanding of cross-cultural artistic expression as well as the cultural identity of both languages.
