Spiritual Transformation in the Perspective of Christian Theology

Abstract

Spiritual growth is an important process in the Christian life that requires spiritual discipline such as prayer, meditation on the word, and worship. This discipline plays a role in shaping Christian character, deepening the relationship with God, and encouraging the spiritual maturity of the congregation. However, many individuals experience spiritual stagnation due to a lack of understanding and consistent application of spiritual disciplines. This study uses a qualitative approach with literature study, interviews, and observation methods, involving church and congregation leaders who actively apply spiritual discipline. The results of the study show that communities with discipleship based on spiritual discipline are more effective in guiding the congregation towards spiritual transformation. As a recommendation, the church is expected to strengthen discipleship programs, pastoral accompaniment strategies, and the integration of spiritual teaching in theological education to promote the spiritual growth of the congregation.
