Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between self-control and alcohol addiction in ethnic Ambon adolescents. This study uses a quantitative method with a correlational design. Data analysis used the Pearson Product moment correlation technique with the SPSS 25.0 for Windows program. The results showed that there was a significant negative relationship between self-control and alcoholic beverage addiction behavior in ethnic Ambon adolescents with a Spearman correlation coefficient (rho) value of -0.623 and a significance value (p) of 0.000 (p < 0.05). That is, the higher the level of self-control, the lower the tendency to alcohol addiction, and vice versa.
