Abstract

Speaking refers to the capacity to communicate with others through the use of spoken language. Oral communication and speaking are synonymous. Therefore, information gap activity is one of several strategies for investigating the challenges and improve speaking skills. By employing information gap activities and observing the classroom setting when this approach is applied in speaking classes, the researcher aims to investigate the challenging that faced by the students using information gap activity. The other instruments also supported the observation, namely the interviews with the participant. Moreover, this study used the classroom action research design that covered plan, action, observation, and reflection in two cycles. Based on the findings This research commends the strategic introduction of information-gap activities, emphasizing their value in developing crucial speaking skills. The structured implementation of activities, clear instructions, and specific goals underscore the effectiveness of the teaching methodology.
