This qualitative study explores the strategies used by primary school calligraphy teachers in Congtai District, Handan City, to sustain students' interest. Through in-depth interviews with six experienced teachers, the research identifies key methods such as creating engaging environments, employing reward systems, and integrating technology and real-life connections. Data were collected and analyzed across multiple sessions during the academic year. Findings indicate that these student-centered strategies are effective in maintaining engagement, though their success is limited without stronger institutional support. The study concludes that a diverse and dynamic pedagogical approach is crucial for fostering a long-term appreciation of calligraphy and preserving this traditional art form.
