This study aims to analyze the influence of work stress, role clarity, and competence on employee performance at the Regional Office of the Directorate General of Treasury (Kanwil DJPb) of North Sumatra Province. This study uses a qualitative method with data collection techniques through interviews, observations, and documentation studies. The results of the study show that high work stress has a negative impact on employee performance, while role clarity contributes positively to work productivity. In addition, employee competence has an important role in determining work effectiveness. The combination of these three factors indicates a complex relationship, where clarity of roles and good competencies can help employees cope with work stress. Therefore, organizations need to manage work stress, improve role clarity, and develop employee competencies through continuous training and development to improve overall employee performance.
