The Role of Green Financial Innovation in Improving Corporate Sustainable Financial Performance

Green innovation in the financial sector plays a crucial role in bridging the global funding needs to address the increasingly pressing climate change crisis. Through the development of various new financial instruments such as green bonds, environmental, social, and governance-based investments, and green credit, the financial sector is able to redirect capital flows from extractive industries to sustainable projects. The purpose of this study is to provide an explanation of the role of green financial innovation in improving corporate sustainable financial performance. The methodology used in this study is descriptive research with the assistance of secondary data, such as books and journals, for explanation and analysis. The results of this study indicate that green financial innovation plays a key role in driving companies towards achieving sustainable financial performance. These roles include reducing the cost of capital through green debt markets, mitigating regulatory risks, increasing resource efficiency, strengthening company market value, and creating long-term competitive advantages.
